URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Marquette MI 1229 PM EDT Fri Mar 15 2019 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Lake enhanced snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches. The greatest additional accumulations into this evening will occur in the Porcupine Mountains and over the higher terrain from Twin Lakes to Delaware and at Herman in eastern Baraga county. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could linger into the evening commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow means lake effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Use caution when traveling.
